MONTHLY MEETINGS

We have a luncheon meeting and program once a month, September through May.  Unless otherwise noted, meetings are always at the Garden Club House at 116 Evergreen Street in Leakey.  Guests are always welcome and we often have a guest speaker or member presentation.

MONTHLY WORK DAYS

We meet as needed at the Garden Club House to clean the grounds, weed the beds, do maintenance, and add or replace plants.  Members provide their own tool, gloves, etc.

ANNUAL PLANT SALE

Each year in the early spring, the Frio Canyon Garden Club has a community-wide plant sale.  This is the only fundraiser we have.

Our own members work throughout the year to propagate proven cultivars that will thrive in the Frio Canyon.  We pay special attention to our unique needs:  drought tolerance, deer tolerance, etc.  We also try to provide plants that attract hummingbirds and our beautiful Monarch Butterflies.  In addition to our own plants, we work with nurseries to provide unique selections that will beautify your garden.

It's not all about flowers!  We always have an impressive variety of peppers and tomatoes including heirloom varieties.

Check back with this page or like our Facebook page to see the date of our next sale.

FIELD TRIPS

Once or twice a year we take a day trip as a as a group.  Past locations include  Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, The Ridge in Kerrville and Hill Country Adventures in Concan.
